Dr. Samantha Wright grew up in Eastern Oregon and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology-Health Sciences from Oregon Tech, located just minutes from Crater Lake National Park. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry from University of Missouri-St Louis, graduating with honors and receiving the Missouri Optometric Foundation Private Practice Award.
Dr. Wright completed extensive training at her disease rotation at St Louis University diagnosing and managing ocular diseases, fitting multifocal contact lenses, and administering dry eye therapies. Additionally, her rotation at Northwest Eye Care Professionals provided her with valuable expertise in binocular vision and vision rehabilitation in children and adults alike.
Her passion for eyecare began during an outreach trip to Papua New Guinea, where she was involved in an initiative to restore quality of life through vision. She remains involved with programs like OneSight, serving rural US communities providing glasses to hundreds of adults and children in need. Dr. Wright is an active member of the St. Louis Optometry Society (SLOS), Missouri Optometry Association (MOA), and American Optometric Association (AOA). She is also a proud provider of the Infant See program, offering free comprehensive eye care to infants 6 months to 1 year of age.
Having previously worked as an Optician at Midwest Eye Associates while in optometry school, Dr. Wright is excited to continue to work with such an amazing team and contribute to their goal of providing excellent eye care to patients. Dr. Wright has found her home in the St Louis area and enjoys playing tennis, staying active outdoors with her husband and two dogs, going to farmers markets, and finding new craft projects.
