Dr. Steven Henderson earned his Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education-Biology with honors from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He then went on to achieve his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry, where he also served as a teacher’s aide in Neuroanatomy, Clinical Optometry, and Ocular Disease courses.
Dr. Henderson has extensive training in diagnosing and managing various ocular diseases, including diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts. He completed his disease-based clinical rotation at Saint Louis University Eye Center, with additional clinical experience at Envision Eye Specialists and Tomasino-Goerss Vision Source.
Dr. Henderson has been an integral part of Midwest Eye Associates since his time in optometry school, receiving mentorship and training from Dr. Huff. Dr. Henderson is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association, and Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
Originally from Washington, Missouri, Dr. Henderson now resides in the Saint Louis area with his wife, Megan, and their daughter, Audrey. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, brewing beer, and exploring the outdoors.
